Ricardo Afonso is an experienced filmmaker who has produced and directed a variety of documentary films and series, as well as working as a Director, Director of Photography and editor on branded content with Discovery Channel, Budweiser, Universal, ITV and Google to name a few. He is the producer/director of Candid Pictures - an independent production company founded in 2015 in Beijing, China. With teams stationed in Asia and Latin America, we specialize in bringing amazing stories to life through documentaries, travel series, branded content, TV, and film." Through Candid Pictures, Ricardo produced, directed and edited two successful documentary series, Conquering Southern China, and its sequel, Conquering Northern China, both of which are currently being broadcast worldwide. Both series have earned fantastic reviews from viewers and critics alike. Ricardo splits his time living in Beijing, China, and Merida, Mexico where he has teams and networks of experienced freelancers that he regularly works with.
